Relaxed, secure and free
Give yourself a moment to settle and breathe. Stretch your out breath if that feels good. Soften the muscles around your eyes. Close them if you like. That’s it.
Scan what’s there inside you as you settle and breathe. Whatever is there, simply allow it. Notice it, without needing to change any aspect.
You might like to get a sense of placing all of that just outside yourself as you breathe out. And allow it to be there as you breathe, with soft eyes. That’s it.
Bring your attention back to whatever is inside you as you soften the focus of your eyes and breathe. Choose a colour that would be a great colour for you right now. Breathe that colour in through your heart… and out from your heart.
That’s it. As you bask in the colour that suits you just now, turn your attention to the way you’d love to feel when you settle to relax in the evening. How good it would be to find it easy to stop in the evening and be still. How lovely to refresh, to let go of all thoughts of the day!
Allow yourself to focus on how lovely it is to feel confident, content and relaxed. Wouldn’t it be great to feel a warm comforting hug from the universe, wrapping you round like a blanket? Just hugging yourself for a moment as you sit and breathe and imagine, is a lovely way to connect with the way you’d most like to feel. Imagining that warm, loving blanket is all that it takes to bring yourself Home.
As you allow yourself to love the idea of feeling relaxed and content, secure and free, you don’t have to make anything happen. Just thinking about how good these states feel is all it takes to bring them towards you.
Isn’t it great to imagine the freedom of stepping into that camper van, the one you don’t even own, but it’s there for the driving, vivid in your mind’s eye? Isn’t it lovely to feel such a sense of adventure and potential; the thrill of the world being your oyster?
How lovely to imagine leaving everything behind and heading out into the freedom of the day! Anything could happen, the road is rich with possibilities! Softly imagining the freedom of that adventure is delicious and open and light. Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to feel that kind of freedom? Wouldn’t that be lovely?
As you enjoy the thought of being so free and happy, simply loving the desire is enough to bring relief. You don’t need anything to happen, simply enjoying the thought of such relief is enough.
Wouldn’t it be lovely to feel playful and silly? Isn’t it great when you can laugh, mess around, have fun, be ridiculous? There’s nothing better to lighten the day than a moment of pure silliness, time to laugh, time to smile. Isn’t it good to feel light and free as you play, joke and giggle with Megan and with friends?
Wouldn’t it be great to feel calm, relaxed, confident and free? Wouldn’t it be lovely to feel that warm blanket around you as you settle at the end of the day? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to come in after walking Megan and settle easily to watch TV or listen to The Archers. Wouldn’t it be great to sigh with relief and relax for a while, feeling calm; feeling still and whole?
How good it feels when it’s easy to let go of the stuff of the day! Wouldn’t it be lovely to feel like that? To be someone who can easily stop, sit, relax and be… To be someone who can put their head on the pillow and go straight off to sleep, waking up, relaxed and refreshed.
You know what it’s like to feel relaxed and free, happy, secure and held. It’s lovely to know that as you focus even a little thinking towards that camper van, that blanket, that silliness with friends, you are tuning into those feelings, making it easier every time, to feel them.
And there is nothing you need. Imagining even five minutes of calm will bring you benefit now. Letting go of what happens next brings even more freedom, hugging and playfulness. You’re doing so well to be here, imagining, reaching for a little more joy.
I wonder if you might be pleasantly surprised to find how easy it is to feel calmer as you relax in the evening. Enjoy the thought of what you would like it to be like as you settle to rest and then to sleep. Let go of any thought of needing any change to happen yet. Be content with the enjoyment you find in just imagining it. That’s enough. That’s all it takes as it builds over time.
