Coaching with Clean

“Clean” questions were first identified by psychotherapist David Grove and his wife Cei Davies Linn, in their pursuit of questions that did not “lead” clients. 

This specific set of questions, used in a coaching context, enables Amanda to listen very purely, paying exquisite attention to you, bringing no content of her own into the mix. The agenda and the content are yours and yours alone: to explore, to understand, to change, if you so wish.

Clean for Team Alignment

Systemic Modelling, developed by Caitlin Walker (www.trainingattention.co.uk) brings the pure listening of “Clean” into group settings. If you have a diverse team, whilst you have the benefit of very different approaches, you may also find these differences challenging - misunderstandings and frustrations can arise easily.

This approach enables teams to truly appreciate the way others think. Difference is welcomed and utilised as never before. The team learns how to train their attention, using Clean questions to model crucial aspects of their work. 

This modelling enables colleagues to describe, with unique clarity, how success works for them, so that they can learn from each other, to grow what works. It also enables non-judgemental exploration of the challenges faced by the team. Colleagues become curious about, rather than frustrated by, the struggles they face.
 

What happens next?  

Synergy. Team members move naturally into solution focused thinking, giving and receiving feedback to enhance outcomes and improve together. Respect and cohesion grow as they appreciate each other’s unique perspective. The team becomes more than the sum of the parts as they intuitively move together towards ever greater alignment.
